Android! Privacy is not a luxury

Talk to introduce the problematic nature of preinstalled apps on low cost devices. Briefly covering the primary issues and proposed solutions

[Privacy International](privacyinternational.org) is currently investigating how the economically disadvantaged are exploited by manufacturers and telecommunications companies through the use of pre-installed apps (Bloatware). These apps often have poor data security practices, use custom permissions and cannot be deleted by users. Privacy International is trying to apply pressure on Google/Alphabet to better protect users, as Google has a controlling influence in the Android ecosystem
