Green Hydrogen Workshop

Hardware Hacking Village
Welcome all participants to the "Introduction to Green Hydrogen and building a Simple Hydrogen Cell" workshop. We are excited to have you here today to explore the potential of hydrogen as a clean energy source. The Facilitator: My name is Moe Karawia, and I will be your workshop facilitator. With over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, I have witnessed the transformative power of green hydrogen gas compared to fossil fuels. Throughout this workshop, I will share my knowledge and guide you in understanding the fundamental concepts of green hydrogen. Objectives: * Introduce hydrogen as a clean energy source and its potential to reshape our energy usage. * Provide an understanding of how hydrogen is produced, stored, and utilized. * Explore the chemistry and physics behind electrolysis, the process of generating hydrogen. * Guide you in creating a simple hydrogen cell to witness its practical application.
Understanding Hydrogen as an Energy Source: We will delve into the "how," "where," "when," and "what" of hydrogen as a clean energy source. We will explore its versatility, its potential applications across industries, and the environmental benefits it offers. Safety: Safety is of utmost importance when working with gases. In this segment, we will conduct a crash course in safety procedures and instructions specific to handling hydrogen. You will learn the necessary precautions and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Creating a Simple Hydrogen Fuel Cell: We will explore practical aspects in this workshop. We will dive into the electrolysis process, examining the chemistry and physics principles involved. You will learn how to calculate and construct a simple hydrogen cell, gaining hands-on experience in working with hydrogen. Course Material: To participate in this workshop, all are welcome. For the practical part involving the creation of a simple hydrogen cell, the facilitator will provide the necessary parts and tools. Cost: To participate in this workshop, all are welcome. For the practical part involving the creation of a simple hydrogen cell, the facilitator will provide the necessary parts and tools. Please note that the cost of the parts and materials required for the experiment amounts to 55 Euros. Conclusion: This workshop offers an immersive exploration of hydrogen as a clean and sustainable source of power. We will uncover the challenges it faces and dive into the latest technologies developed to overcome these obstacles. Moreover, we will emphasize basic safety procedures when working with hydrogen and guide you in designing and constructing a simple hydrogen cell. We look forward to embarking on this informative and hands-on journey with you as we unlock the potential of green hydrogen gas together.

In this 2h workshop, I will teach you to work with the tiny components that modern electronic devices are made of. We will assemble an electronic kitten, that purrs when touched correctly, and hisses when touched wrong. It will work, and is guaranteed to remove your fear of hand-assembling surface mount designs.

This talk will show you how many interfaces have to communicate in order to fly experiments on a sounding rocket. We will give you insights into the procedures and the complexity of a research campaign and the actual flight of the rocket itself. In particular, we look at the hardware and software used in the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and the Service Module (SM) within the rocket.
