RCS - der SMS Nachfolger und wie Google dies für alle kontrollieren kann
Dezember 2023 meldete Google euphorisch, dass jetzt 1 !Milliarden! Menschen über RCS (Rich Communication Service) erreichbar sind. Und im Juni 2024 kündigte Apple an, allen iPhone Nutzern ebenfalls RCS über ihre Messaging App zur Verfügung zu stellen, womit sich die Zahl der potenziellen Nutzern praktisch verdoppelt. Doch was ist RCS überhaupt? Und wieso nutzen so viele Menschen weltweit diesen Service ohne es zu wissen?
In dieser "Ask me Anythink" - Session erkläre ich grob wie RCS technisch funktioniert, wieso Google die Kontrolle über die gesamte Infrastruktur erlangen konnte und wie sie sämtliche Sprach- und Text- Kommunikation der SIM Karte in Zukunft kontrollieren könnten.
Ich habe dazu ein paar erklärende Folien vorbereitet und freue mich über alle Fragen und Diskussionen :)
