Enhancing open-source hardware accessibility with OShop: a metaplatform for easy design discovery.
In the OShop project, our mission is to further establish open source hardware as a viable option for companies and make it easily accessible. A significant challenge we face is transparency—understanding which designs are already available and identifying those that can be seamlessly replicated. To address this, we are developing a metaplatform that interlinks various repositories, enabling users to efficiently find and utilize the most suitable designs for their needs. Additionally, we aim to gather feedback on actual user requirements and provide opportunities for community participation in the development process. This talk will delve into our strategies for enhancing design discoverability, fostering collaboration, and driving the growth of the open source hardware ecosystem.
